Our home music studio is conveniently located in Tanglewood Forest near the Slaughter and Westgate intersection. Grocery stores, strip malls, and 2 neighborhood parks are all within a 2 minute drive.

If you choose to stay while your child takes music lessons, we have a waiting area equipped with free Wifi or you may observe the lesson. Every practice room has seating for parents.

Our music lessons are designed for all skill levels, and beginners are welcome. If you have a few questions before you start a trial lesson, please complete the contact form. We’ll match you with an instructor who fits your goals, walk you through the basics step by step, and set up a weekly lesson time that works for your schedule. Don’t worry, once you contact us, we do heavy lifting – not you!

At Franklin Music Academy, beginners are always welcome! Our expert instructors create a supportive, hands-on environment where kids can explore music at their own pace.

To provide a well-rounded foundation, we teach children how to read music, making our program one of the most comprehensive music schools. in Austin.

It is not required for the trial lesson as most beginners don’t have an instrument yet. However, if you have an instrument, please bring it! This does NOT apply to piano students. Leave your keyboard at home.

Let us know via text or email at least 24 hours before your lesson that you need to cancel. Cancellations submitted by this deadline may be rescheduled or credited to the next month’s invoice. We do not charge fees for cancellations or no shows.

For most music schools, the average age to start formal music lessons is no earlier than six, but seven is ideal for most students especially for guitar and drums. The main criteria are that the child knows his/her alphabet and can sit still for 30 minutes.
