Austin's Best Little Music School

Group Lessons Recommended

The Tiarra Girls reminisce down memory lane about their beginnings with the Franklin Music Academy and recommend group lessons for aspiring musicians.

Fascinated and inspired by the sweet tunes played by their music instructor, Victoria “Tori” Baltierra, only a 3rd grader at the time, sought lessons that certainly turned out to be a life changing experience for both her and her sisters.

From their humble beginnings performing at charities and fundraisers to now sharing the stage with well-known musicians at major events in and around Austin, the Tiarra Girls have certainly earned the attention of a growing fan base. Recently, the Tiarra Girls have been ranked as #2 “Best Performing Band Under 18” in Austin by The Austin Chronicle at the Austin Music Awards 2015.

Tori recommends group lessons because “being in a group and learning music together, learning how to love music together, and expressing through music together is so much better than doing it by yourself.” We couldn’t agree more. Kids who are curious about music should consider group music lessons for starters.

Parents are always asking us at the Franklin Music Academy about the best approach to introducing music to their child and we suggest that they keep group lessons in mind. In a group lesson, the child’s attention is more focused on bonding with other children and having fun. Soon, the child’s love for music in a positive atmosphere will follow.
